Oldmeldrum Golf Club, like the village whose name it bears, has a reputation as a friendly place.
It lies some 18 miles north west of the city of Aberdeen from where a relaxed 30 minutes' drive will bring you to a warm welcome from staff and members alike.
Oldmeldrum is an historic golf club: the game has been played here for more than 120 years. However. its outlook is modern and, here, you will find all the facilities you would expect of a thriving, 21 st century golfing venue.
Tuition at all levels is provided by resident Professional Hamish Love, who runs a comprehensively stocked shop offering refreshments, range tokens and cards, clothing, footwear, equipment, accessories, club repair and the hire of clubs, electric buggies and electric or manual carts.
Lessons and practice are available in our dedicated facilities which include a short game area and driving range directly alongside the car park, the putting green which is adjacent to the club house, and the four-hole practice area between the second and eighth fairways a short walk from the club house.
Upstairs, in the large lounge with its panoramic views of the course, Jill Sim provides a fine food service to fortify you before and after tackling Oldmeldrum's 18 challenging holes.
On the ground floor there are ladies' and gentlemen's locker and changing rooms as well as showers and toilets.
Oldmeldrum Golf Club is sited on the eastern edge of the village about a quarter of a mile from the A947, the main Aberdeen to Banff road. Those travelling from Aberdeen on the A947 should ignore the turnoff on the left for the city centre and continue instead for about 400 yards to where a signpost on the left points to a right turn into Kirk Brae . The car park is on the left as are the club's practice area and driving range. Please note that, for safety reasons, car park operates a one way traffic system. The entrance and exit are clearly marked and vehicle speed in the car park should be limited to 5 mph.
